Hi. You’ve reached the English-language section of mitologia.hu, the personal and professional webpage of Adam Dobay.
About me
I’m a 27 year-old Hungarian screenwriter, translator and story consultant for various media, employing and researching contemporary cultural and mythological insights. Based in Budapest, Hungary, I freelance in local and international television, web and computer game projects. I hold weekly lectures on the mythological and psychological analysis of popular film and works of Japanese animation.
I have been researching contemporary popular culture for most of the last nine years. I have held lectures and published dozens of articles and studies on works of film and television and their relation to mythology, as well as on the research of social phenomena like green movements, conspiracy theories, and esoteric groups.
I studied English and American Culture, Film History and Film Theory at the University of Budapest, simultaneously delving into comparative mythology and the practical spiritual paths of Eastern cultures.
As a freelancer I have spent many years working in the field of English-Hungarian translation (most notably on the second season of the award-winning television show The Amazing Race Asia 2). As producer for the thematic Hungarian television PAX I created and produced an 8-episode documentary series on comparative mythology, The Myth Within. I’ve published articles in a number of Hungarian publications (both print and digital), and have even dabbled in teaching traditional Indian Yoga, something that I have been practicing for many years now.
As a freelancer I’m available for hire for screenwriting, story consultancy, script doctoring and game doctoring. Contact me via e-mail and we’ll work out the best solution for your specific project.
